Interpretation

It consists in translating content orally from one language into another. It is frequently used for conferences, seminars, training courses, press events, product launches, business meetings, interviews and factory tours. Interpretation may be either simultaneous or consecutive.

Consecutive interpretation
It consists in a delayed verbal translation of the message; the interpreter waits for the speaker to finish a sentence or an idea, and then renders the speaker’s message into the target language. The interpreter will be close to the speaker and therefore no soundproof booth is required. Consecutive interpretation is best suited for situations involving a small number of people.

Simultaneous interpretation
It consists in translating a verbal utterance at the same time as it is being voiced in the original language. Sound equipment, a soundproof booth and headphones for the audience are required.

Voiceover interpretation / susurrado
A soundproof booth is unnecessary when the group needing interpretation is small. The interpreter may speak at the same time as the speaker, their voices over-lapping, if only one or two people need translation.

Editing and proofreading

“Your reputation suffers when you send out emails, letters, proposals, reports, and other documents that are poorly written and have grammatical errors andtypos.”

Before submitting an academic research paper, essay, article, contract, or any other written document, it is crucial to carefully proofread it. Proofreading of written material is the final and essential step that must be taken before a document can be considered ready for presentation.

The proofreading process involves a series of levels of revision: the textual, lexical, orthographic, morphological, syntactic, stylistic and orthotypographic levels.
